No English club had ever won the league, the FA Cup and the European Cup in the same season. In May 1999, Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United did it in the space of 11 days, finishing with the most dramatic Champions League final ever played. The shirts from that season are now some of the most iconic in football.
The 1998-2000 home shirt
Umbro's red home shirt with the Sharp sponsor was the shirt of the whole campaign. It was worn by Peter Schmeichel, Jaap Stam, Gary Neville, Roy Keane, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and the deadly partnership of Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, who scored 53 goals between them in all competitions.

Eleven days in May
On 16 May, United came from behind to beat Tottenham 2-1 at Old Trafford and win the Premier League. Six days later, Teddy Sheringham and Paul Scholes scored in a 2-0 FA Cup final win over Newcastle at Wembley. Then came Barcelona.
On 26 May 1999 at the Camp Nou, without the suspended Keane and Scholes, United trailed Bayern Munich 1-0 going into stoppage time. Sheringham equalised in the 91st minute. Two minutes later, Ole Gunnar Solskjær poked in the winner from a Sheringham flick-on. "Football, bloody hell," said Ferguson afterwards.
